“In short, its possibly one of the experiences I’ve enjoyed most in my life. My initial trepidation in what lay ahead for us a team was soon dispelled by fantastic instruction and explanation from Joe and Glen. Within minutes on our arrival to the camp, the instructions were clear, precise, informative, interesting and really engaging. My curiosity grew, my sense of adventure blossomed and I quickly wanted to do and learn more. The shelter building immediately bonded us all as a team with people falling naturally into different jobs on the different shelters, but all the time talking, sharing, helping and building with the others in the other shelter. The fire starting was again an incredible experience with us feeling a sense of exhilaration as our first fire was started and lit. From thereon in, new skills were learnt, new tasks were achieved and all with a sense of strong team work and enjoyment. A well thought out, well executed and incredibly enjoyable day which left us all grubby, tired but elated with our group achievements. My thanks go to everyone involved but with a special nod to the incredibly professional and likeable Joe and Glen.

We weren't told much about the team build so arrived with quite a bit of trepidation. As soon as we met Joe and Glenn and they started explaining what we would be doing we knew we would be in for a challenging, but fun time. Joe and Glen were professional and always on hand with assistance. My two favourite parts were the forage walk, and the luxurious sauna in the morning – that was amazing. Thank you to  Joe and Glen for such a wonderful experience that I would normally never have done.

Joe and Glenn were fantastic instructors – both really professional and informative and definitely the guys to be with if you really were stranded somewhere in the wild! I had a great time and felt quite inspired about everything I learnt and I've already cut some hazel to do my own sauna – my favourite bit! Thanks for it all.

I could not have asked for a better team build!!! As I was the person organising the event for our team, I kind of felt the responsibility was on my shoulders to make it a good one!! Barbara and Nick were accommodating and very organised, once we met them on the day, the whole event ran very smoothly.
Joe and Glen were just amazing, their enthusiasm did not waver once during the whole time we were with them, they kept us on our toes all day, and still managed to whip up a very tasty risotto for our evening meal, they did not even flinch when the wine got opened in the evening. Their wealth of knowledge was astounding, and I came away having learnt so much, I can now build a boat and row myself to safety if I need to!! I would recommend this team build to anyone, truly an unforgettable experience!!

What a fantastic experience!
I can’t begin to imagine what Joe and Glen thought as we bundled down into the wood laden with sleeping bags and pillows!!
I think we showed them what we were made of though as we got stuck into making the shelter and building a boat to carry a few of us out to the island.
Every part of the day was challenging and interesting, and boy did we need that cup of tea on Wednesday afternoon!!
Joe and Glen were funny, professional and supportive throughout the time we spent with them. They even kindly said that we didn’t keep them awake on Wednesday night!!!
I had a brilliant time and have spoke about the course to anyone who will listen - although my husband was a bit miffed when I said that I could sort out the trees at the end of the garden far more efficiently than he could because, after all  ‘I am trained in bush-craft’!

Thanks so much to you all for a brilliant afternoon - the hen said afterwards that it had been the 'best day of her life' and that she especially enjoyed the treasure hunt! So well done and thank you for giving us all such a good time, it was also a great way for those in the group who hadn't met before to get to know each other before the big day. I must confess I was a little apprehensive beforehand as I'd have felt a bit responsible if it hadn't gone down well, but you surpassed all our expectations and everyone had lots of fun :)

“I am non-competitive by nature. I have a crashing, irrational fear of anything that whiffs of a corporate ‘team building’ event. I don’t quiz. The words ‘Hen’ and ‘Night’ in the same breath make me want to grab a bucket, plus the first black cab heading in the opposite direction, avoiding any KFCs on the way. I am not a ‘group treasure hunt’ natural. In fact, if I hadn’t agreed to blog this event for the Food Festival, I would probably have eaten my own leg (plus trouser, shoe, and sock) rather than be there. I am not Xtraordinary Xperience’s target market.
But what a fool I’ve been. I totally, completely, LOVED this evening.
We met and were issued with a clipboard of clues, a pencil and a map, plus a final rendezvous point and a finish time. Much drinking, bribing bar staff, attempting to trade answers, drinking, learning about local breweries and real ales, drinking, checking out menus and wine lists at the featured venues, drinking, learning about dairy, veg and bread suppliers, drinking, making new friends and having a brilliant night out in Arundel pubs and restaurants ensued. This took a good couple of (chronologically telescopic) hours.
We eventually ended up at Arundel Jailhouse (which for out-of-towners, is no longer part of the British Judiciary System, so nowhere near as bad as it sounds). In the interests of not giving away spoilers for future events, all I will say is what they did to us there was FIENDISH. And DIABOLIC. And NUMERIC. And BRILLIANT. And accompanied by the most marvellous live music, courtesy first of Arundel favourite Will Hall, and then by the accomplished and haunting songs of Johanna and Matt.
A MAHOOSIVE veggie-friendly and gorgeous buffet courtesy of the Red Lion was included in the the ticket price; everyone went home with a pocketful of treasure, and the organisers couldn’t have been more helpful and/or friendly if a bunch of ghost convicts were forcing them into it.
Xtraordinarily well organised, and a wonderful Xperience? Yes. 100%. I’m a complete convert. Still not up for a Hen Night, though (unless these guys are running it…)
